War of words over Nara Lokesh's controversy
The TD has requested the media to repeatedly air the video clips of the training camp.
Vijayawada: The controversy over TD general secretary Nara Lokesh's alleged harsh criticism of home minister Nimmakayala Chinnarajappa at a party training camp has been picked up by the social media. Despite the TD’s efforts, it has not been able to get much support as the YSRC’s social media wings and individuals have made it a major issue.
The TD has requested the media to repeatedly air the video clips of the training camp. Almost all members of the Cabinet and party senior leaders have spoken up in defence of Mr Lokesh.
The TD were busy highlighting YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s reported arrogance anarchism towards his own party leaders. To this, the YSRC has said it is part of the ruling party’s penchant for character assassination. They point out that the media favourable to the TD had been used to attack Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy.
YSRC senior leader Ambati Rambabu said the public understood the issue and the party had no need to focus on Mr Lokesh. The TD was behaving as an unconstitutional authority, he alleged.
He alleged that the social media picking up the report which was published in the Saakshi newspaper had nothing to do with Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy. “It is the exaggeration of Mr Chinnarajappa, Cabinet ministers and TD senior leaders who are trying to control the damage,” he said.
TD senior leader Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said Mr Lokesh was soft by nature, and even addressed him (Mr Chandramohan Reddy) as “sir”. He said the TD was not interested in character assassination of Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy as the “cases on his illegal activities are in court.”
