BENGALURU: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) is set to take up the case of a video clip of a conversation between state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa and Union minister H N Ananth Kumar about alleged payments to central leaders under provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act even as CM Siddaramaiah maintained that he would not issue any directions to police officers in this regard.

He told the media here: "According to the FSL (Forensic Science Lab) report, the voice in the CD is theirs' (Mr Ananth Kumar and Mr Yeddyurappa's). Police will take action in accordance with law."

BJP leaders led by Mr Ananth Kumar, however, cried foul and charged that the video clip where he is heard allegedly saying to the former chief minister: "When in power, you have also paid money, I have also paid money, when did I say I haven't paid?," was doctored and that the findings of the FSL were politically motivated. Mr. Ananth Kumar and Mr Yeddyurappa's comments were accompanied by much laughter.

The minister demanded that the entire conversation, not just one lasting a few seconds, be put forth, and charged that Mr Siddaramaiah had created an "undeclared emergency" like situation with his dictatorial attitude.
