Anantapur: YSRC chief Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy is scheduled to take part in Yuvabheri programme in Anantapur on October 10. The party district unit was making necessary arrangements towards party chief programme in the view of speculations over shifting of several representatives from Rayalaseema.
Presently, YSRC only has legislator Y. Visweswar Reddy representing them from Uravakonda. Mr Reddy and district leaders were leading the programme to make it a success.
Meanwhile, TD high command was planning to give a jolt to YSRC chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy by inviting former MLA from his party in Anantapur. Former MLA B. Gurunath Reddy, close aide of slain Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy’s family planned to shift loyalties to TD.
Mr Gurunath Reddy’s family was loyal to slain chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy for more than four decades.
Gurunath Reddy’s elder brother B. Narayana Reddy was an even closer aide of Rajasekhar Reddy even while he was in opposition and also rival group against Kolta Group in the state. Further, Mr Narayana Reddy elected as legislator thrice under the leadership of Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy.
However, his brother B. Gurunath Reddy was replaced following ill health of Mr Narayana Reddy who was also elected once as Anantapur urban MLA and recently tasted defeat against rival V. Prabhakar Chowdary of Telugu desam in the last general elections.
Speculation was rife over the Anantapur MP JC Diwakar Reddy behind the steps to lure Mr Gurunath Reddy into TD.
Mr Reddy was reportedly inactive from party affairs for the past few months as the YSR high command has promised Anantapur urban MLA ticket to minority leader Mr Nadim. However, a group of TD leaders reportedly opposed this because of land issue.
