Hyderabad: Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) is preparing its cadre for election fray in old city. It is learnt that though the leadership would field the candidates in all seven constituencies which were held by the MIM, its focus will remain only on Chandrayangutta and Yakutpura. It appears that being an associate of Bahujan Left Front, the MBT is not ready to join the Congress-led grand alliance Mahakutami.

According to MBT spokesperson Amjadullah Khan Khalid, the party has constituted a three-member committee to finalise the candidates. “Our party is not only fielding the candidates in seven constituencies of Hyderabad, but also from more than 30 places including Nizamabad, Mahbubnagar, Bodhan and Bhainsa. Party president Majeedullah Khan Farahat may contest from Yakutpura constituency,” he said.

None in the Mahakutami except Congress showed any interest to field candidates in old city constituencies. Congress is working on a proposal to field Muzaffar Ali Khan from Malakpet and Osman bin Mohmammed Alhajiri from Karwan in case the TD avoids confronting with MIM. Both leaders were contested on TD ticket in 2009 elections.
