Visakhapatnam: Telugu Desam Mahila president and politburo member Vangalapudi Anitha has said the state is leading other states in stress index under the present YSRC government.

“AP had led others in the happiness index under the rule of Chandrababu Naidu,” she claimed here on Monday.

“This is due to bad policies of the YSRC government. Cheap liquor is flowing in the state un-controlled with the support of the ruling party leaders,” she told the media.

“Jagan said he would not ask for votes in future if he failed to impose a total ban on the sale of liquor. Now the government is earning '98,000 crore every year, which is equal to the budget of a small state,’’ she said.

She said due to consumption of cheap and low quality liquor, many were falling sick and getting admitted into hospitals. During the last three months, around 1,075 persons were admitted into King George Hospital due to liquor related health issues, she said.

She said the government was raising loans from various agencies by pledging the funds from the sale of liquor and the chief minister himself was making huge sums per month from liquor.

“Yet, the government employees are not getting their salaries on time and some of them died by suicide due to non-receipt of salaries. Overall, the people of AP are completely under stress,” she said.

Regarding the derogatory comments by some TD leaders against tourism minister RK Roja, Anitha said those who were speaking in support of Roja were mum when the minister made harsh comments against Chandrababu Naidu’s wife Nara Bhuvaneswari in the state assembly. They were also silent when Roja bad-mouthed Renu Desai, she said.

“Roja offended me in the assembly as I was a Dalit MLA. Those supporting Roja may respond to this on my social media,’’ Anitha said.
