Vijayawada: State Planning Board Vice-Chairman and YSR Congress MLA, Malladi Vishnu, said here that the 2024 polls will be the last for the Telugu Desam if its leaders “do not stop degrading women.”

“The frustration of TD leaders has reached its peak due to the series of severe defeats it experienced in the state,” Vishnu told the media at the Gadapa Gadapaku Mana Prabhutvam programme on Wednesday. TD chief Chandrababu Naidu was still unable to reconcile himself with the TD defeat in the 2019 elections, he said.

“Unable to witness the progress in agricultural, trade and industrial sectors under the leadership of chief minister Jagan Reddy, they are hatching conspiracies to damage the brand image of Andhra Pradesh. Chandrababu is getting demonic pleasure by throwing mud at the government,” he said.

The MLA said the allegations levelled by the TD leaders against the chief minister's family were meaningless.  “TD leaders must avoid the culture of degrading women. If they do not change this attitude, the 2024 election will be TD’s last election.”

Deputy mayor Avuthu Sailaja Reddy, zonal commissioner Ambedkar and party activists were present at the programme.
