Karti Chidambaram may be arrested, says H Raja
Karti couldn't have indulged in irregularities sans PC support'.
Chennai: BJP national secretary H. Raja appears to stoke another controversy in claiming that Karti Chidambaram could not have indulged in irregularities without the cooperation of his father and that former Union finance minister P. Chidambaram may be arrested.
“The CBI custody of Karti, son of former Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram, has been extended for three more days. After interrogation is fully over, Chidambaram senior may be arrested. Karti Chidambaram could not have committed the irregularities without Chidambaram's cooperation,” Raja said.
In another tweet, Mr Raja flayed AIADMK senior leader and Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker M. Thambidurai for reportedly saying the Cauvery meeting convened by the Centre in New Delhi on Friday as unnecessary.
“Thambidurai claims that the meeting convened by Union water resources ministry is unnecessary. Will this mean he is not accepting the participation of Tamil Nadu government officials in it?” he asked.
Raja also condemned the murder of college girl Aswini in Chennai on Friday evening, allegedly by her jilted lover, saying, “it is barbaric and strongly condemnable.”
“Nellaiammal who slapped farmer leader P. Ayyakannu (following an altercation between the two over Ayyakannu distributing pamphlets on Tiruchendur temple complex, recently) should be presented with Veera Thamizhachi (Brave Tamil woman) award,” Mr Raja said condemning Ayyakannu for using derogatory words and “attacking” Nellaiammal, the BJP woman.
The BJP senior also condemned the Tiruchendur temple police for not registering FIR based on the woman functionary's complaint and said the police should arrest the farmer leader for abusing and assaulting the BJP woman member. Mr. Raja also demanded the State government to initiate appropriate action on the temple officials for permitting Ayykannu and other farmers to distribute pamphlets criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
