Mission SC 19 as part of BJP's 'Mission 90' in Telangana
HYDERABAD: The Telangana BJP on Monday said amidst its ‘Mission 90’ target – of winning 90 of the 119 Assembly seats in the state in elections slated towards the end of this year – it will be deploying its various ‘morchas’ to provide specific messaging on failures of the BRS government in ensuring the welfare of each particular group.
On top of its agenda on this front is to win from the 19 constituencies reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates, even as other morchas, such as the BJP Rythu Morcha, will focus on getting active participation of at least five members from each community at the village level.
According to party state general secretary G. Premender Reddy, the Rythu Morcha, for instance, will move ahead with its ‘Ek gaon mein panch kisan (five farmers from each village)’ plan and similar efforts will be made by the other party units such as its Dalit morcha, and Girijan morcha.
Functioning of each morcha will be streamlined and by the end of the next six months, the aim is to reach out to all sections of the people and explain to them how Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and the BRS government have failed them, he told reporters.
Arvind Menon, party national general secretary and joint in charge for state affairs, told a meeting of the BJP SC Morcha that an action plan is ready for appointing mandal-level in-charges from the morcha to reach out to SCs in the 19 SC constituencies in the state which the party has set its eyes on.
