One resigns from job not from mission, says Kiran Bedi
The Lt Governor also asked the Chief Minister to join her in the mission.
Puducherry: Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi in her reply to Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy’s comment that she should resign on moral grounds said that one resigns from a ‘job’ not from a ‘mission’.
“I request him (Narayanasamy) to understand one resigns from a job not a mission. I am on a mission of ‘Prosperous Puducherry’ ,’Swatchh Puducherry’, ‘Water Rich Puducherry’, ‘Financially Secure Puducherry’, ‘Responsive Puducherry’ and ‘Skilled Puducherry’”, she said.
Narayanasamy had demanded the resignation of the Lt Governor on ‘moral grounds’ as the Centre had overruled her decisions in two important matters which shows that the Centre has lost faith her.
“If I was not on a mission, why should I accompany Raj Nivas team and officials every weekend by visiting rural areas in need of resources and paying attention on such as drains, ponds or rivers or bed dams” she said.
The Lt Governor also asked the Chief Minister to join her in the mission.
“Whatever is being done is because it is the right thing to do. In fact we need to do much more and that will happen if the Chief Minister join in. So instead of asking me to stop doing, join me if you love Puducherry and become part of Mission prosperous Puducherry,” she said.
