Niranjan raps TS BJP over KLIS status

HYDERABAD: Citing the national status of the Upper Bhadra projects in Karnataka, agriculture minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy on Saturday said that the Telangana BJP failed to pressurise the BJP government at the Centre to announce the national status for the Kaleswaram project.

The minister said that the BJP government spent ₹6,300 crores on the Ramagundam fertiliser factory, “but no fertiliser was supplied to a single farmer in Telangana”, alleging that the fertiliser produced in Ramagundam is being shifted to commercial markets.

“The Central government copied Telangana's Rythu Bandhu and only provides ₹9,500 to farmers under different schemes. The BJP government offered Fasal Bheema scheme and insurance companies got more benefit rather than people in getting insurance," the minister said.
