Bengaluru: Hitting back at BJP state president B.S. Yeddyurappa who had targeted CM Siddaramaiah and Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai for the violence in the coastal district, KPCC president, Dr G. Parameshwar on Monday said it had been proved beyond doubt who spreads and thrives on communal violence.

Going by the history of communal violence in the coast, it has always been leaders of the BJP who have benefited and not Congress leaders, said the former home minister. According to him,  Mr Yeddyurappa was trying to make gains by politicking over dead bodies.

“People in the coast are aware of such machinations, they will expose the BJP kind of politics in the days  to come. What efforts have BJP leaders done to prevent communal discord?  On one hand, they patronise communal elements to spread hatred and on the other, they shed crocodile tears over dead bodies. I advise Mr Yeddyurappa to rein in the communal elements affiliated to his party,” he retorted.

Dr Parameshwar said when he was home minister, he used to take stock of day-to-day affairs in the home department and now CM Siddaramaiah too was following the same routine. “It is not that the state is without a  home minister and this has led to such a  situation. The CM himself is holding the portfolio and is handling the situation,” he said.
