Yanamala Ramakrishnudu dissatisfied with non-utility of funds

Vijayawada: Finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu expressed dissatisfaction with the SC, ST, BC, Brahmin corporations, housing and other departments for not utilising the allocated budget appropriately for the welfare of the respective communities.
He was addressing officials at the GoM meeting on utilisation of funds for welfare activities on Monday. He said the government allocated Rs 26,000 crores for various welfare departments under this year Budget and requested to make use of these funds in the right way.
The officials had brought it to the notice of the ministers that the funds allocated for all schemes and programmes will reach the beneficiaries directly online at the earliest and accordingly the works are being accelerated.
They said the process of integrating colleges to government welfare departments under “Gyana Padakam” was underway.
As it is time consuming to scrutinise the 16 lakh scholarship applications, measures are being taken to release scholarships at the earliest by verifying the applications at the college-level itself, based on the Aadhaar number, said the officials.
They even mentioned about accelerating the new schemes in housing constructions from November. For this meeting Minister Lokesh, Narayana and Anandababu had attended.
