Vijayawada: YSR Congress leaders alleged on Sunday that Telugu Desam chief Chandrababu Naidu was a corruption king involved in many scams during his rule and a thorough investigation should be conducted into all such scams.

Former minister and YSRC MLA Kodali Venkateswara expressed happiness over the arrest and remand of Chandrababu. “Today, the soul of NTR will rest in peace.”

He said there was prima facie evidence that Chandrababu was involved in a criminal conspiracy. “The court verdict is like a slap on the arrogance of Chandrababu. As a fan of NTR and YSR, I congratulate CM Jagan for arresting Chandrababu.”

State planning board vice-chairman and MLA Malladi Vishnu said Naidu looted '371 crore from the exchequer in the name of shell companies in the name of skill development.

Housing minister Jogi Ramesh said Naidu's true form and face got exposed today and his entire history of corruption would be laid bare. “Chandrababu has a habit of going to court and getting a stay whenever there is any corruption allegation against him. He refuted allegations of political vengeance in Naidu’s arrest and said police officers have been investigating the case for two years and the “real thief” was now arrested and sent to remand.

Municipal administration minister Adimulapu Suresh termed Naidu’s arrest as a victory of the people and claimed that there was no political involvement in this. “When Chandrababu was arrested, his son Nara Lokesh and adopted son Pawan Kalyan came on the roads and created a lot of ruckus.

“Chandrababu was also accused in the construction of TIDCO houses, construction of temporary buildings in the name of Amaravati capital, and other frauds including the skill development scam under the cover of helping  the unemployed. Chandrababu needs to introspect and repent for his sins. He masterminded many scams to loot public money.”
