Huzurabad bypoll test between cheating' and loyalty'
Harish Rao said that Rajendar was not speaking about what he had done for Huzurabad and what he intended to do later
Karimnagar: The Huzurabad byelection will be a test between BJP leader Etala Rajendar “cheating” the TRS and the loyalty shown by Gellu Srinivas Yadav to the ruling party, said finance minister T. Harish Rao said during a campaign meeting on Saturday
Harish Rao said that Rajendar was not speaking about what he had done for Huzurabad and what he intended to do later; rather, the BJP leader was making baseless allegations against the TRS and its leaders.
He said that Rajendar had on several occasions boasted that he was a BC leader. “He must convince the BJP government at the Centre to hold a census of the Backward Class communities,” Harish Rao said, adding that for a second time Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had secured a resolution in the Assembly supporting a caste census and sent it to the Centre.
Regarding allegations of harassment of the Opposition cadres by the ruling party, Harish Rao said, “BJP leaders are taking out the fuse and cutting the power supply at their meetings and blaming the TRS.” He said the government was ready to give all kinds of protection to Rajendar if he is worried about his safety.
He said that for the past six days, the BJP government had been increasing the prices of petrol, diesel and gas. “Rajendar has no right to ask for votes. Unable to give the people an explanation, he is telling them lies and trying to gain sympathy,” Harish Rao claimed, regarding the BJP candidates allegations.
Harish Rao was speaking at an event where BJP Huzurabad town president N. Mahendar Reddy along with 150 members joined the TRS. He asked them to work hard for 15 days to secure the victory of TRS candidate Srinivas Yadav.
