RAICHUR: Former chief minister Siddaramaiah blamed the BJP for resorting to hate politics in the country.

“We have been seeing hate politics after Modi became Prime Minister. To hide the failures of the government, they are resorting to hate politics and communal politics. Hijab, Azan, and Halal are non-issues. They have existed for several years,” said Siddaramaiah, who was in Raichur to hold a meeting with the party workers on Monday. He held a preparatory meeting ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra at Ballari and Raichur.

He said B.R. Ambedkar had given equal rights to all and that the Constitution speaks about secularism. “The government should act according to the Constitution. But the BJP has no respect for the Constitution and so its leaders are trying to change the Constitution. Anant Kumar Hegde had given a statement when he was the minister. This is the agenda of the BJP. Modi should have removed Hegde from the Cabinet,” Siddaramaiah said.

"Today, Dalits, Muslims, and Christians are living in fear. The BJP does not know the problem of farmers. It has failed to control rising prices. The common man has been suffering for the last eight years. The BJP runs a factory of lies and Modi is a great artist. He spoke about ‘Ache Din.’ Did anybody get ‘Ache Din?’ instead the problems have increased,” he alleged.
