NCP leadership rallies behind Thomas Chandy
The party believes that the minister has not committed any violation.
Thiruvananthapuram: NCP state leadership has rejected the demand for transport minister Thomas Chandy's resignation over the allegations of reclamation of paddy fields and lake.
NCP state president leader T. P. Peethambaran Master said the legal opinion was not adverse to the minister. He said there was no need to succumb to the pressure being built within and outside the ruling front for minister’s resignation.
The party believes that the minister has not committed any violation. The remarks made by court questioning the stand of the government were only observations and need not be taken seriously, he said and added that everybody should wait for the court verdict. Peethambran Master said the chief minister had not summoned Chandy in connection with the case.
"The minister had gone to meet chief minister to explain his side,” he added.
