TRS MLAs focus on community halls and temples as elections get closer

ADILABAD: Sitting TRS MLAs are focusing on the construction of community halls and temples and giving funds for the same from their MLA funds as elections are fast approaching.

TRS MLAs are consciously spending their MLA funds on the works for various communities. They consider these communities to be their strong vote bank. Fulfilling the promises made to them is a prerequisite to get their votes again.

The state government has released the pending MLA funds and increased this to Rs 5 crore from the Rs 3 crore.

TRS MLAs laid foundation stones for the community halls and promised the communities funds to develop their temples.

Sitting TRS MLA are visiting villages and addressing the local problems and promising the people to complete the pending development works. Khanapur MLA Rekha Naik visited various villages and gave funds for construction of function halls and temples.

Asifabad MLA Atram Sakku released money from his funds for the leveling of the 4K road between Ganeshpur of Shivnur gram panchayat and Shambhuguda of Ghanpur gram panchayat to cut short the distance to Jainoor from Utnoor.

Pandra Jayawanth Rao, MPP of Ghanpur, said the distance would be cut short to 12km from 30km (via Utnoor X road) by leveling the old road and making it suitable for transportation of vehicles.

MLA Jogu Ramanna also gave funds below `5 lakh for community halls and temples in Adilabad assembly constituency. Sitting MLAs reportedly give funds below Rs 5 lakh for community works with a provision that each community's people can take up works on their own. Tenders have to be called for the works if the funds given are above Rs 5 lakh. To avoid tenders in most such cases, the local MLAs give funds ranging from Rs 2 to Rs 5 lakh.
