VISAKHAPATNAM: The YSRC would sweep the polls in Vizianagaram district in the 2024 elections as in the last polls, said party’s regional coordinator and TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy claimed here on Sunday.

Addressing the general body meeting of the Vizianagaram district branch of the party there on Sunday, Subba Reddy said chief minister Jagan Reddy would live in the hearts of the people forever because he took care of the poor through a series of welfare measures. This added to the people’s support for the YSRC party, he said.

About the projects in the district, he said the foundation would be laid for the Bhogapuram airport soon after Sankranti. Tenders would be invited soon for a drinking project worth `850 crore under the Jala Jeevan Sravanti.

“We are building houses for the poor and would ensure their pending bills are paid before the Sankranti festival,’’ he said.

He said 98 per cent of the promises the YSRC made before the elections have been fulfilled and added 2,000 more diseases would be included in the Arogyasri insurance scheme. The welfare schemes launched during the last three years have reached every eligible poor family in the state, he said.

The government has aimed at equal development for all regions, he said and criticised Opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu for his “loose” comments like ‘Andhra would become another Sri Lanka due to the heavy spend for the welfare schemes.

On strengthening the party at the grass-roots level, Reddy said a Gruha Saradhulu was being launched and two persons would be appointed for every 50 houses. The CM would soon talk to the district party in-charges about this.
