Telugu film industry never cooperated with TD: Chandrababu Naidu
Naidu surprised at IT clean chit to Jagan family firm
VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Desam chief Chandrababu Naidu made some sensational comments on Telugu film industry on Tuesday, saying TFI never cooperated with his party, the Telugu Desam.
“If Chiranjeevi had not formed a party in 2009, I would have come to power,” Naidu said while addressing the media here. Naidu also said that when he was the chief minister, films were made against him.
“I am fine with Chiranjeevi during the party formation and now also,” he added.
Responding to the clean chit given by the Income Tax department to Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s family media group in relation to it getting investments disproportionate to known track record, Naidu said this would set a wrong precedent for all politicians. If the IT department would not consider as corruption an act of investment of Rs 1,200 crore in Sakshi without its promoters putting a single rupee in it, this was strange, he said.
Naidu said, in view of this, everybody would now take Jagan as a role model and they would start activating the flow of funds to their illegal firms by selling shares of Rs 10 at Rs 3,000 or Rs 5,000.
The former CM said there should be amendments in the existing IT Act in order to ensure coordination between the IT, CBI, ED and other central agencies. Why did the CM allow Bharati Cements to hike the packet price by Rs 30 to Rs 40 once again, he asked, and claimed that the YSRC government was linked to the cement cartel.
