Hyderabad: With about 11 months left for a new government to be formed in Telangana, the BJP has called upon its ground-level booth committee members and workers, along with its leaders, to devote at least 200 days to make the party battle-ready.

On the second day of his meetings with party leaders from parliamentary constituencies, BJP general secretary Sunil Bansal, who is the party’s in-charge for state affairs, is learnt to have impressed upon them the importance of maintaining unity and steps needed to strengthen the party at the ground level.

On Wednesday, Bansal interacted with leaders from Medak and Bhongir constituencies and underscored the need for booth committees. Incidentally, the BJP has been struggling for quite some time on this front.

Dubbak legislator M. Raghunandan Rao told reporters after the Medak constituency meeting that the strengthening of the party from the booth level upwards was discussed at the meeting.

“People of the state have decided that they have had enough of the BRS government and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. It was time for them to go. The BJP is the alternative, and every booth committee president and workers should strive to spread the party message for 200 days in order to bring the party to power in the state,” he said.

State BJP general secretary G. Premender Reddy said that Bansal has urged them to be among the public and expose the anti-people policies of the BRS government. The plan to hold at least 10,000 village-level meetings was also discussed,” he said.

The BJP sees a fair chance of winning Bhongir, Medak and Malkajgiri Lok Sabha seats.
