WARANGAL: People of Mahabubabad are overwhelmed by rapid development witnessed within their area following the visit of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to their district for inaugurating the integrated collectorate complex and the newly built BRS office, apart from addressing a public meeting.

Md. Yakub Pasha, a resident, said the town had been unhygienic with garbage piled up in every colony, no proper drainage canals and several bad roads. With the CM’s visit, everything has started shining within 48 hours. Roads have been laid overnight, drainage canals cleaned, weeds on roadsides removed and new saplings planted.

“It would be better if KCR visits Manukota at least once in six months, so that our town remains spick and span,” Yakub Pasha observed.

Enthusiastic people started gathering at the venue of public meeting right from 10 a.m. But the Chief Minister arrived two hours late. First, he inaugurated the newly constructed BRS office and then the integrated collectorate complex building before addressing the public.

Banoth Venkanna Naik, resident of Mahabubabad town who attended the meeting, told Deccan Chronicle that they never thought such a huge collectorate building will one day come up in Salar Thanda with all kinds of facilities. He said people never believed that Mahabubabad will one day become a new district. “It has become possible only because of KCR. The new collectorate building will become a big asset for Mahabubabad district,” Venkanna Naik remarked.

Local BRS leader N. Srinivas Reddy said it is a proud moment for people of Manukota to have the first BRS office inaugurated by the party chief himself after TRS has converted itself into a national party.

People also relished the wonderful meal arranged by BRS leaders for around 10,000 people. There were nearly 40 food stalls in temporary tents installed a little distance away from the meeting venue.
