Congress asks KCR not to contest Palair
TRS sources said that the party may contest the Palair seat on the lines of Narayankhed.
Hyderabad: The Congress has requested Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to leave the Palair Assembly seat in Khammam district for the kin of late Congress MLA Ramreddy Venkat Reddy and ensure unanimous election. However, the CM did not offer any response to the request on Friday.
“Our MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar made the request in the Assembly, but there was no reply,” said CLP leader K. Jana Reddy.
Mr Kumar said, “We request the CM to ensure unanimous election in Palair.” His request was echoed by party MLC P. Sudhakar Reddy. Meanwhile, TRS sources said that the party may contest the Palair seat on the lines of Narayankhed.
“In all likelihood, TRS may contest the seat. However, no decision has been taken in this regard by the CM,” a TRS MLC told this newspaper.
