Hyderabad: TS Assembly Speaker S. Madhusudhana Chary’s decision to merge 12 TD MLAs into TRS on their plea has come in for sharp criticism from the Congress and TD.
Faulting the decision, CLP leader K. Jana Reddy said people who have to protect the Constitution shouldn’t be biased.
“It’s unethical and undemocratic. One cannot use power to favour the ruling party. This is against democratic principles. Technically it might be correct, but it’s morally wrong,” he said.
Elsewhere, asking TD activists and those who believe in democracy to burn effigies of the CM, TD working president A. Revanth Reddy said that the decision was against the Constitution and “murder of democracy”.
