Kakinada: Though candidates for many of the constituencies in East Godavari district are said to be confirmed by the Telugu Desam high command, dissidents still have hopes on changing  candidates. A list has been published in some of the media, and rebels and dissidents believed that the party may probably give tickets to them.

Meanwhile, some party senior leaders say that though there is dissidence against some of candidates, in particular MLAs, they should not be changed. They said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu gives tickets as per the survey and performance of the MLAs without consideration of dissidence.

It is said that the Chief Minister may give tickets to the candidates of his and his son N. Lokesh’s choice in East Godavari district.

Varupula Jogiraju (Raja) reportedly succeeded in getting the Prathipadu ticket instead of sitting MLA Varupula Subba Rao who switched his loyalty to the TD from the YSRC. Mr Raja is presently chairman of the District Cooperative Central Bank. Mr Raja was elected to the DCCB during the Congress regime, later joined the YSRC and is now in the TD.

He maintains cordial relations with Mr Lokesh and is campaigning for the past one year in the constituency, aspiring for the ticket.

But Varupula Subba Rao is confident of getting the ticket.
