Thiruvananthapuram: The BJP has started to prepare for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections right in earnest. As part of waging a psychological warfare, BJP national general secretary P. Muralidhar Rao has claimed that leaders from both the Congress and CPM in the state will soon  join  the saffron fold. Though the Congress has rubbished the  propaganda, some leaders are apprehensive of the BJP move to rope in a number of VIPs to the party.     RSS chief and Sarsanghachalak Mohan Bhagwat, during his previous visits to the state,  had invited some prominent persons to join the Sangh Parivar.

A  BJP general secretary told DC that the party was targeting  people from all walks of life. “Amit Shah will visit Kerala next month to gear up the party for the  2019 Lok Sabha elections,”  said the BJP leader.    A number of union ministers will also visit  the state in the coming days. They include  urban affairs minister Venkaiah Naidu,  culture minister Dr. Mahesh Sharma,  minister of state for information and broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore,  minister of health and family welfare J.P. Nadda,  minister of parliamentary affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and BJP spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain.
