Visakhapatnam: BJP Andhra Pradesh president Kanna Lakshminarayana has demanded a CBI enquiry on the corruption activities of the previous government.

Alleging that TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu was a corrupt leader, he urged the new government to probe into the misdeeds that happened during his term.

He further sought a detailed investigation on various white papers released by the previous government.

He also asked CM Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to find out the land acquisition irregularities in Polavaram project on Godavari River, while continuing with the construction of the multi-purpose irrigation project.

In a press conference on Thursday, BJP president said that he was not concerned whether YSR Congress would associate with BJP or any other political party at the Centre.

He urged the YSRC supremo to protect the interests of the state.

He said, “BJP will not hesitate to play the role of main Opposition in the state, if required.”

Criticising the former CM, he said that TD members had realised that Mr Naidu was an inefficient leader and they had come to BJP.

He said, “There are no permanent friends or foes in politics. The members of all political parties believe in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and are keen to join our party.”

At the same time, the BJP leader clarified that there would be no alliance with the TD in future. He announced that the party had 12 crore members as per Sanghatana Parv 2019 (membership drive).

“This is the highest membership of a political party across the globe,” he claimed.
