Congress Munugode yatra from tomorrow
The padayatra will begin as part of the ‘Azadi ki Gaurav Yatra’ between Samsthan Naryanpur and Choutuppal
Hyderabad: As the battle for the Munugode Assembly bypoll intensified, the state Congress, led by A. Revanth Reddy, decided to kick off its week-long campaign in the constituency with a padayatra on August 13.
The padayatra will begin as part of the ‘Azadi ki Gaurav Yatra’ between Samsthan Naryanpur and Choutuppal. On August 20, the concluding day marking Rajiv Gandhi’s birth anniversary, top Congress leaders will visit 175 villages in the district.
Revanth Reddy will not only personally review the campaign but also pay frequent visits to different mandals of the constituency.
In the preliminary meeting at Gandhi Bhavan, which was presided over by Manickam Tagore, AICC Telangana incharge, the PCC proposed a week-long campaign schedule for Munugode. Between August 14 and August 19, the party will host review meetings in several mandals.
At the meeting, Congress leaders had a lengthy discussion about Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy’s resignation and the factors that led to his decision. They came to the conclusion that this was a part of the TRS and BJP’s plan to weaken Congress.
Meanwhile, Sunil Kanugolu, the party strategist, was given the task of conducting a fresh constituency survey in order to focus the party’s campaign efforts accordingly.
