Jagan returns from London, reviews political scenario in AP
CM likely to visit Delhi soon
VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy returned here on Tuesday after a 10-day visit to London and reviewed the law and order situation in AP with top officials.
The review was done in the context of the arrest and remand of Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu. During an in-camera meeting, the CM asked the officials to keep a close watch of the situation in view of the protests from the TD and some other opposition parties.
YSRC leaders Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, Y.V. Subba Reddy and minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy met the CM at the camp office. DGP K.V. Rajendranath Reddy, Intelligence chief P.S.R. Anjaneyulu, additional advocate general Ponnavolu Sudhakar and some other officials also met Jagan Mohan Reddy. They explained the details of Naidu’s arrest and court proceedings of the past three days.
Jagan Mohan Reddy asked the officials to speed up the probe in these cases. He also discussed with officials on the future moves relating to the Amaravati insider trading lands scam and Amaravati inner ring road alignment scam.
The CM discussed with Subba Reddy, Ramakrishna Reddy and Ramachandra Reddy about the political scenario in the state after the arrest of Naidu. He reportedly told party leaders to explain to the masses about Chandrababu Naidu’s corruption.
The Chief Minister is likely to go to Delhi for two-days from September 13 to meet Prime Minister Modi and home minister Amit Shah. He would brief them about the arrest of Naidu and cases thereof. He would also discuss with them the YSRC support to the BJP government in the Parliament Session that starts on September 18.
The CM might emplane for Delhi on Wednesday morning or by evening or on Thursday.
Jagan Mohan Reddy and his wife returned to the state on Tuesday morning after their London visit from September 2. Normally, the CM does not encourage send-off or welcome at the airport from his ministers when he goes on such visits. This time however ministers, legislators and officials rushed to the Gannavaram airport in large numbers to welcome the CM. Notably, people wished the CM on the way home from the airport. They held YSRC flags.
Ministers Jogi Ramesh, P. Vishwaroop, Mutyala Naidu and Nageswara Rao, Chief Secretary K.S. Jawahar Reddy, DGP Rajendranath, senior officer Poonam Malakondaiah, police commissioner K.R. Tata, SP Palle Jashua, collector Raja Babu, MPs Nandigam Suresh and V. Balashouri, MLAs Malladi Vishnu, Vellampalli Srinivas, K. Parthasarathi, Vamsi Mohan, MLC Lella Appireddy, Vijayawada East constituency incharge Devineni Avinash and others welcomed the CM with bouquets at the airport.
