Solar scam case: Did no wrong, ready for probe, says Oommen Chandy
Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala meanwhile has described the decision of the government as politically motivated.
Kochi: Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said that he has not committed anything wrong in the solar issue and is not afraid of facing any probe in the matter. Speaking to reporters on the government ordering fresh investigations and registering cases against him and a slew of other Congress leaders Chandy said he cannot be intimidated by such action.
“I will take the appropriate legal measures against the government action and I am not worried about the action of the government” he said. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has announced a vigilance probe against Chandy based on the findings of Justice Sivarajan Commission report in the matter. The former CM has asked why the government has taken a hasty decision on a report which was not even published openly. “I have not committed any mistake and I am confident of proving my innocence at any forum”.
The former CM has said that a case has been filed against the people behind the fake letter of Saritha Nair. Chandy has also said the present government has resurrected the Solar Case as it had failed to unearth anything else against the UDF government. He challenged Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to disclose the details of the report prepared by the cabinet sub-committee on a slew of decisions taken by the previous UDF government. A widespread campaign was unleashed about corruption in the decisions taken by the government. The present government was unable to find any evidence of corruption even after one year in office, he pointed out.
Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala meanwhile has described the decision of the government as politically motivated. The chief minister making these decisions on the polling day is with a clear political intention, he said.
