Asaduddin Owaisi downplays Amit Shah's Telangana plans
He said, In Telangana, we have governance according to the Constitution and people are governed by the rule of law.
Hyderabad: MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday said that BJP chief Amit Shah was frustrated because he did not know what to do in Telangana state where the people believed in composite culture and governance according to the Constitution.
He was reacting to remarks of Mr Shah at a public meeting in Karimnagar on Wednesday. Mr Shah had said: “Due to the fear of Owaisi and for the Muslim vote-bank Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao stopped celebrating Hyderabad Liberation Day.”
Advising Mr Shah “not to dance to the tunes of Gau Rakshaks (cow vigilantes)”, Mr Owaisi said, “Amit Shah is frustrated and lost and he does not know what to do in Telangana. Because the people in Telangana believe in a composite culture and vouch for the 'Ganga-Jamuna tehzeeb'.
He said, “In Telangana, we have governance according to the Constitution and people are governed by the rule of law.”
He said that the BJP is trying to make India a Raj of the RSS, and that is why the people of the state were opposed to the BJP. They will not allow the RSS and its sister organisations to do what they are doing in the BJP-ruled states, Mr Owaisi said.Mr Owaisi said that unlike in the BJP-ruled states, boys and girls were not harassed in Telangana state while they spoke with each other and people were not killed "in the name of cow".
He claimed that there were no incidents of communal violence in the state in the last four-and-a-half years. He asked why Mr Shah was not taking action against the people who were harming the youth of the country in the name of the cow.
