Bhongir MP cautions KTR over his ‘covert’ remarks
The Congress MP alleged that the family which was involved in massive corruption was trying to tarnish the image of the Komatireddy family
Hyderabad: Reacting sharply to minister K.T. Rama Rao’s statement against the Komatireddy brothers — who he described as ‘coverts’ —Congress MP Venkat Reddy dared him swear in the name of God that the Kalvakuntla family was honest and had never indulged in corruption.
The Congress MP alleged that the family which was involved in massive corruption was trying to tarnish the image of the Komatireddy family.
In a media statement on Tuesday, the leader recalled how Rama Rao had kept himself away at the time of Telangana movement, while the Komatireddy family was receiving lathi blows and rubber bullets. “You are enjoying the foreign trips only because of the sacrifices made by martyrs for Telangana. Have you visited the house of any of the martyrs,” he asked.
While referring to the Delhi liquor scam, Venkat Reddy asked Rama Rao to make sure TRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha was cleared of all charges before making allegations against others. “The family which has destroyed the state has now shifted its focus to Delhi. While engaging itself in settlements (with the ruling BJP at the Centre) is making prospects. Who are the real coverts,” Venkat Reddy asked.
