Naidu used Amaravati as ATM card: Botsa
The minister said Naidu never distributed house pattas to the poor during his 40 years of political career
VIZIANAGARAM: Former chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu used Polavaram and Amaravati as two ATM cards and now he is asking the people to forgive him, said Minister for Municipal Administration Botsa Satyanarayana.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, the minister alleged that Naidu had always been far from the opinions and wishes of the people. He is still misleading the public with his crooked mind to gain their sympathy and stay in the limelight.
“It’s very funny to know that even after 18 months being out of office, the leader of the opposition does not know why he was defeated. Even today he is not regretting his failures,” Satyanarayana said.
He stated that Naidu never distributed house pattas to the poor during his 40 years of political career. He called agriculture a worthless profession but is now shedding crocodile tears for Amaravati farmers.
Naidu and his henchmen purchased huge lands at Amaravati before announcing it as the capital city. He is crying foul when the new government announced Vizag as the capital because he is worried his business partners would lose a lot in Amaravati. On promises of providing jobs, except Lokesh, no others could get employment during his government, he said.
The State debts increased as he was obsessed with creation of assets for himself and to implement welfare schemes but not for others.
On the MANSAS issue, the minister said, “Naidu never knew the history of the trust. It was P Ashok Gajapathi Raju, who wrote to the then government to merge MANSAS Trust with the State government because he could not reckon with his elder brother Ananda Gajapathi Raju being chairman of the trust. But on the request made by Ananda Gajapathi Raju, the new government had kept it as an autonomous society, he added.
