Minister seeks inquiry into Naidu\'s wealth
\'Naidu has been using his influence to make sure no inquiry is made into cases related to his properties and the ‘cash-for-vote’ case\'
VIJAYAWADA: Agriculture minister Kurasala Kannababu on Wednesday slammed Opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu for his attacks on Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy and his Sakshi media despite the I-T Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) giving a clean chit to them as regards the investments.
The minister, on the other hand, sought an inquiry into the huge growth in Naidu's wealth and the assets of Heritage Company that increased abnormally due to huge hike in share value during the TD government’s term, and fell once the TD lost power.
Speaking to media, the minister said people had invested Rs.1,200 crore white money through legal channel in Sakshi newspaper in 2008 and cases were registered against Sakshi and other companies owned by Jagan Mohan Reddy later, as he didn't call off his Odarpu Yatra. The Congress and the TD were behind the conspiracy, he said.
The minister said Naidu was unable to digest the verdict of the tribunal.
He said Naidu has been using his influence to make sure no inquiry is made into cases related to his properties, the ‘cash-for-vote’ case, as also the Yeleru and Amaravati scams.
The minister lashed out at Naidu for making “false claims” against Bharathi Cements and said this and other companies are offering cement at `230 per bag to 28 government institutions for construction of irrigation projects, government schools, housing and other works.
He said cement companies have delivered 28 lakh metric tonnes of cement to the government on rebate price and asked Naidu if Heritage company had given any product to the government on rebate.
