BJP-AIADMK team ready to bribe voters: KS Azhagiri
Azhagiri said, alleging that the AIADMK-BJP alliance in the State had already siphoned money into the constituencies.
Kanyakumari: "Ensure free and fair election by curtailing distribution of money for votes," the Tamil Nadu Congress committee pre-sident, K S Azhagiri, requested the Election Commission of India (ECI). He urged it to take act-i-on on the complaint that the AIADMK-BJP alliance in Tamil Nadu has already pumped money into constituencies, to bribe voters.
Alleging that the AIADMK-BJP alliance in the State had already siphoned money into the constituencies, and were getting ready to distribute around Rs 50 crore for each Ls constituency to bribe voters, K.S. Azhagiri warned.
, unless EC checked money distribution, democracy would be routed.
Azhagiri also wanted the BJP defeated to protect the country from going into the hands of a dictatorial regime, and said that the Congress-DMK alliance has been formed to ensure a stable government in the State, and for a prosperous India as a whole.
Earlier, inspecting the election meeting venue that is getting ready at Nagercoil in Kanyakumari district, where Congress president Rahul Gandhi is to kick start the election campaign for the DMK-led alliance in the state on March 13, Ahzagiri said that DMK president M K Stalin, MDMK general secretary Vaiko, VCK leader Thirumavalavan and leaders from the left parties too, would share the dais with Rahul Gandhi at the meeting in Nagercoil.
