Malafide nexus exposed: YSRC
The TD wants to cash in on Mr Lakshminarayana’s image of a tough cop and his intolerance of corruption.
Vijayawada: Reacting to reports that former joint director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) V.V. Lakshminarayana is going to join the Telugu Desam and contest from Bheemili, the YSR Congress said that the “malafide nexus” between TD supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu and Mr Lakshminarayana has been exposed.
“Our stand that the TD had a nexus with the then CBI investigating officer is vindicated with the cop joining the TD and being given a ticket to contest from Bheemili. The case was foisted on YS Jagan Mohan Reddy with political motives with the Congress and the TD joining hands and the case was taken up in a tearing hurry by the CBI with Mr Lakshminarayan being the investigating officer who went overboard to support the TD and its friendly media.
“The in-camera information was leaked to the friendly-media and his phone was constantly sending and receiving messages and phone calls from the agents of Mr Naidu and many stories were planted during the course of the investigation,” alleged YSRC leader, Ambati Rambabu.
He said YSRC chief Jagan Mohan Reddy was denied bail after the mandatory 90 day custody and the investigating officer had given information from the records breaking all service rules, which established the links with TD and its agents.
“When a petition was filed to look into the corruption charges against Mr Naidu, the same CBI said that it has shortage of staff, which shows the dual standards. As the charges framed are fictitious, with mala fide intentions, and there has been no proper evidence to establish them beyond reasonable doubt, our stand on the nexus is vindicated by this reward of an assembly seat to the former cop, who was very cooperative and accommodative with the TD and its agents,” Mr Rambabu added.
