Hubballi: Reacting sharply to the reported statement of Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy that youth who do not have the resources to have food, join the Indian Army, State BJP president B.S. Yeddyurappa  termed the CM  ‘foolish and irresponsible.’

Addressing media persons in Gadag on Friday, Mr Yeddyurappa remarked that the CM has proved he is unfit to serve in his post. Claiming that Mr Kumaraswamy has become desperate on realising that Independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh who is backed by the BJP, will win the Mandya Lok Sabha seat defeating his son Nikhil, the BJP chief alleged that the JD(S) is now resorting to goondaism to ensure the victory of its party candidate. He also predicted that the coalition government will collapse soon after the elections.

“BJP leaders have already toured all 28 parliamentary constituencies twice. There is a need to ensure Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s return to power to safeguard the country. Our party will do better than last time in the Lok Sabha polls and win least 22 seats in the state and more than 300 seats on our own across in the country”, Mr Yeddyurappa predicted.

Ridiculing PWD minister H D Revanna’s statement that he will quit politics if Mr Modi becomes PM, the former CM said people of the state are fed up with the politics of Deve Gowda and his family members. Responding to the controversy over the Income Tax raids, he maintained that though BJP leaders too were raided, they did not stage protests like the coalition partners Congress and JD(S) did.

“The coalition government is in the ICU and suffering from respiratory problems. Due to this, the common man in the state is facing severe hardship,” he added.
