Vote for genuine change in Tamil Nadu: Kamal Haasan
Kamal Haasan said that people have only one choice that is MNM to bring a change in the state.
Thanjavur: Film actor and president of Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) Kamal Haasan has appealed to the people to usher in a change in Tamil Nadu politics by voting to candidates of MNM in the coming elections on April 18 without fail.
Campaigning for Sampath Ramadoss, MNM candidate for Thanjavur Lok Sabha constituency and P. Duraisamy for Thanjavur Assembly constituency near Sivaganga garden on Friday, Kamal Haasan said that people have only one choice that is MNM to bring a change in the state.
"Coming election is an opportunity for you. Don't forget your duty to vote and do it ethically without selling it" he pleaded with the people. He said he was overwhelmed to see women, particularly with children in their hands and youth attending his meetings during nights and also braving the scorching sun, though he may arrive late for meetings. This showed the faith people had in him and his party, he said. .
He said that Cauvery issue could not be solved by mere talking about it. But farmers should be trained in integrated farming to earn good income. Their multi-varied activities should be brought to focus. "For example, cold storages at a small level can be established for the benefit of vegetable farmers," he said. Later he asked the candidates to speak. P. Duraisamy said that Kamal Haasan should live for 200 years. Immediately Kamal Haasan said that Duraisamy exaggerated certain things when he spoke about him and praying for him to live for 200 years is one such exaggeration. "That is not possible and again and again I am saying that time is short. Already I have come very late. You have to excuse me for that. But don't let loose the opportunity now. Vote for good people, viz. candidates of MNM," he said.
