Pawan Kalyan seeks probe into AP citizens' data landing with private agency in TS
Vijayawada: Continuing his tirade against the YSRC government on the volunteer system, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has asked Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy as to why the data of the AP citizens is being handled by a private agency based in Telangana and sought a probe into its safety.
Addressing a public meeting in the course of his poll campaign at Tadepalligudem on Wednesday, Pawan Kalyan asked who headed this Hyderabad agency. “Its safety is a matter of worry as the data involved details of Aadhaar cards, bank account numbers and family details. What is the guarantee that it would not land in the wrong hands,” he asked.
Pawan Kalyan asked as to who was paying wages to the 700 staff in the agency.
Referring to the observations of AP High Court judge justice Battu Devanand on the volunteer system, he asked about its legal sanctity and questioned the need for involving volunteers when a government mechanism existed. Who would own up responsibility if vital data of citizens, especially the women, fell into the hands of anti-social elements, he asked.
He cited examples of young girls getting raped and killed in several parts of AP and attributed these to misuse of official data.
He said, “I am not against the youngsters working as volunteers and getting a monthly honorarium of Rs 5,200. They are all my brothers and sisters. I do not want to stop their source of income for their livelihood. I want them to become good professionals. I want to give a financial aid of Rs 10 lakh for 500 youngsters in each Assembly segment to set up units and help others get employment.”
In an oblique reference to the film Vyuham produced by Ramgopal Varma targeting him in the trailer-2, Pawan Kalyan advised him to instead write a book with the title ‘Ayogyudu Mavadu’ with reference to Jagan Mohan Reddy. Pawan Kalyan volunteered sarcastically to write a foreword for it and also named the chapters targeting the CM. “The moral of the book should be, not to be a looter of public property.”
Maintaining that he used to respect Jagan Mohan Reddy earlier, he said that, however, when “he started to address his wife as “Pellam” and abused his mother and even children, I lost respect towards him.”
The Jana Sena leader asked Jagan Mohan Reddy to ask his wife, ‘Madam Bharathi’, whether she could accept his style of tarnishing the image of other women. Pawan Kalyan urged Bharathi Reddy to advise her husband to control his tongue and expressed concern over Jagan Mohan Reddy’s “character assassination” of women on various platforms including the social media.
He listed out CAG reports dealing with diversion of huge funds to purposes other than to which they were allotted, and also how money earmarked in the budget for various purposes were not used or diverted.
