In Raichur, Rahul Gandhi takes on hollow' Modi
Rahul Gandhi claimed on Saturday that the people were now beginning to see through him.
Raichur: Accusing the Modi government of taking the people of the country for a ride by making false promises of creating jobs, helping farmers and his "hollow" Make in India slogan, AICC vice-president, Rahul Gandhi claimed on Saturday that the people were now beginning to see through him.
"Mr Modi only bluffs wherever he goes. But people have now realised that only the Congress can safeguard their interests," Mr Gandhi asserted while addressing a rally of Congress workers organised here by the district Congress Committee to felicitate him for the last UPA government granting Hyderabad Karnataka special status under Article 371(J) of the Constitution.
Pointing out that farmers' suicides were on the rise, he regretted that the Modi government had failed to come to their rescue by waiving off their loans. "When the Modi government can write off the loans of 10 to 12 top corporate houses amounting to around Rs 1.30 lakh crores, why is it not showing the same concern for farmers who are the backbone of the country? But within two days of my suggesting it, the Siddaramaiah government waived off the farmers' loans here. That is the difference between our government and the Modi government," he declared.
