Hyderabad: A long period political rivalry between minister P. Sabita Indra Reddy and former MLA Teegala Krishna Reddy is learnt to have ended on Sunday.

In 2014, Krishna Reddy had won from the Maheswaram constituency by 30,000 votes on a Telugu Desam ticket, beating Sabita Indra Reddy who was then with the Congress. He joined the BRS (then TRS).

In 2018, Sabita Indra Reddy, still with the Congress, defeated Krishna Reddy but later joined the BRS and got a Cabinet berth. Adding to Krishna Reddy’s ire was the minister’s son Karthik Reddy becoming involved in constituency politics.

Krishna Reddy sent an ultimatum to the party on his political aspirations to re-contest from Maheswaram but the leadership did not oblige him. There was speculation that Krishna Reddy could leave the BRS.

However, on Sunday, Krishna Reddy and Sabita Indra Reddy met at a programme in Badangpet and spoke for about half an hour. While returning, Krishna Reddy said, “Jai Sabita... Zindabad Sabita,” possibly indicating that the issue had been settled to everyone’s satisfaction.
