YSRC to Hold Why AP Needs Jagan' Debate in Every Assembly Constituency
Vijayawada: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as president of the YSR Congress has decided to conduct debates, discussions and meetings on ‘Why AP Needs Jagan’ -- across all the assembly constituencies soon.
“The party would treat every vote as important and valuable towards efforts at achieving its target of winning all the 175 constituencies under the ‘Why Not 175’ initiative. The MLAs and in-charges of the constituencies with conveners, observers, Gruha Saradhis, mandal, town and city leaders will hammer home the point as to why AP needs Jagan and the YSRC to win the next assembly polls. They would explain the development and welfare the state and its people achieved in the past four years.
The chief minister asked the party’s rank and files to concentrate on elimination of the large number of bogus votes the Telugu Desam suspectedly got included in electoral rolls. These would be identified and brought to the notice of the Election Commission.
Pointing out that a majority of the 60 lakh bogus votes included during the term of the TD government led by Chandrababu Naidu, the chief minister asked his MLAs, constituency incharges, observers and coordinators to also ensure all the eligible are included in the voters list.
“Every vote is important and valuable in the mega battle of 2024,” he said and asked regional coordinators, MLAs, constituency in-charges and conveners to work in tandem and ensure maximum voting for the party.
According to party sources, the mass interaction programme of Jagananne Maa Bhavishyathu, Gadapa Gadapku Mana Prabhutvam and Jagananna Suraksha were big hits and these helped decrease the ‘negativity’ among sections of the people, by resolving their issues during the visits. There is only eight months left for the elections and the YSRC would conduct mass campaigns and meetings under the slogan, ‘Why AP Needs Jagan’.
“The YSRC cadres, mainly second-rung leaders and activists, are the backbone of the ruling party. Hence the YSRC high command decided to provide health insurance to Gruha Saradhis, secretariat conveners and mandal conveners, so as to give confidence about the party’s support to the second rung leaders,” party sources said.
YSRC general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna said the YSRC took the welfare and development of the Jagan government to every house through various mass interaction programmes. The party high command decided to motivate party cadres and the masses through mass meetings, explaining the need to bring Jagan Reddy back to power, in all the 175 constituencies.
The YSRC says Jagan Reddy did not stop the welfare schemes despite the Covid crisis and other financial constraints for the past four years and hence the people would continue reposing their trust in him.
AP planning board vice chairman Malladi Vishnu said all sections of the society benefited from the Jagan-led government.
