Chennai: The enthusiastic participation of members at the Tuesday general council session of the AIADMK has restored “huge positivity” in the ruling party, minister Mafoi Pandiarajan said.

“The general council meeting resulted in enthusiasm getting restored in a big way. That is a very positive development today”, the Minister told DC soon after the council session.

“This session must have shattered the TTV camp. Already, there are cracks showing there”, said Pandiarajan. “We are expecting some reverse flow happening in the next few days. Some MLAs have started feeling pressure from their constituencies that they should return to the parent camp”, he said.

Another AIADMK senior said the party leadership is seriously considering cracking the whip against the five district secretaries who have crossed to the TTV side and replace them with loyalists. “This stern action, long overdue, will now speed up restoration of discipline which we have seen slipping rapidly after Amma’s demise. It’s high time we bring back order”, said the senior functionary, requesting anonymity.
