A good idea is always worth emulating, especially in politics where good ideas are rare. This is the sentiment in Andhra Pradesh, with news spreading that Telugu Desam heir apparent Nara Lokesh is planning to launch his own version of Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra.

The word is that it would not be called Andhra Jodo Yatra, with TD leaders saying that Lokesh could begin his walkathon to unite AP, or rather get the people in the state to stand by the TD, from January 27, 2023, from Kuppam.

Walkathons in the past have yielded fantastic results in Andhra Pradesh, be it the one done by Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy who walked the length and breadth of united AP and went on to become Chief Minister - a tactic later successfully adopted not only by Lokesh's father and TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu but also the incumbent AP Chief Minister and Dr Rajasekhar Reddy's son Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

There is also hope in TD circles that the image of 'pappu' that was spread about Lokesh, just as it was for Rahul, could disappear if the walkathon that the TD leader wants to start, materialises.
