THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor is opposed to the frequent disruption of Parliament by the Opposition and ruling parties. “It has become a vicious circle,” he told reporters here on Monday. Mr Tharoor said that those disrupting Parliament  should be suspended automatically. The Congress party was aware of his views, he added.   “All political parties have to agree on this,” he said. When debate and discussion are needed on the demonetisation issue, what takes place is disruption, he said.

Mr Tharoor added that the people who voted for him did not send  him to  Parliament to obstruct the proceedings in the House. He  lamented that the BJP members also stalled the House. The demonetisation was implemented by the centre  without planning, he said. Kerala is over-dependant on remittances from abroad which is not desirable. “We need to end the over- dependence on the remittances without waiting for something to happen. Tourism, hospitality and wellness should be given more thrust,”  he said.
