Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has ridiculed the newly-formed Congress government’s announcement that it will release a white paper on Telangana’s financial situation with BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao stating that Congress leaders, who made it “impossible to implement” promises during the election campaign, knew what they were walking into.

Rao said that Congress leaders were trying to find ways to blame the previous government and hold it responsible for their inability to keep election promises.

In an informal chat with reporters at the Legislative Assembly building on Wednesday, Rao said that every budget document, and audit report placed in the Assembly had all the financial details and were white papers on finances. If Congress leaders had read these documents they would have known about the loans taken by the government, he said.

It is not the BRS government’s fault if Congress leaders did not do so, he added.
