Bengaluru: Focusing on each booth coming under Loka Sabha constituencies, BJP national president Amit Shah has asked the state BJP to implement a 26-point programme at all booths across the state.

Addressing Karnataka BJP MPs, MLAs, MLCs and party district and taluk office-bearers in New Delhi, Mr Shah unveiled the 26-point programme and asked party leaders to implement it soon after the Sankranthi festival.

Party state general secretary and core committee member N. Ravikumar told Deccan Chronicle that the BJP will start the field work after Sankranthi. For the next two months, the BJP central leadership has given assignments to state leaders reach out to all booths. The 26-point programme specifies that the party should get over 50 per cent of votes in each booth, induct a minimum of five new faces to the party in each booth, take out bike rallies in all Assembly constituencies, strengthen the SC, ST and OBC wings in each booth and highlight the Union government's 10 per cent reservation to economically backward upper classes in education and jobs.  The party state leadership has maintained its distance from Union Minister of State Ananth Kumar Hegde after his controversial remarks during the Assembly elections.
