HYDERABAD: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Sunday claimed that political factionism and murder politics had started in Telangana state. He said that there would be no peace if there were attacks on his party workers. The party would stand by every single worker.

Rama Rao was speaking at an event to pay tribute to a retired soldier, Chikkepalli Mallesh, who was murdered allegedly by Congress leaders in Gantraupalli of Peddakothapally mandal of Nagarkurnool on December 29 last.

Rama Rao visited the Mallesh’s residence and interacted with the family members.

Rama Rao said that political murders had never happened in Telangana state in the past. Mallesh was killed by political opponents and political factions in Kolhapur constituency, he claimed.

Winning and losing elections is natural in politics but murder politics is evil, Rama Rao said.

"Even though we were in government for 10 years, there were no attacks on Congress workers or leaders,” Rama Rao claimed. “This kind of culture was not encouraged. We can think what the situation would have been if we had encouraged this unfortunate culture."
