Seven parties to back AIADMK

Leaders who called on Ms Jayalalithaa at her Poes Garden residence on Sunday evening individually had pledged their support to the AIADMK.

Chennai: The leaders of seven political parties including present allies, called on AIADMK supremo and Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa on Sunday and confirmed their alliance with her party for theMay 16 Assembly poll.

The leaders who called on Ms Jayalalithaa at her Poes Garden residence on Sunday evening individually had pledged their support to the AIADMK and vowed to work for its victory in the May 16 Assembly polls. They said seat-sharing talks would be held later.

Those who called on the CM included: Republican Party of India leader Tamilarasan Tamizhaga Vaazhvurimai Katchi founder T. Velmurugan, India Towheed Jamath leader Bakker and All India Forward Bloc leaders Devarajan and Kathiravan Kongu Ilaignar Peravai leader Thaniarasu, Tamil Maanila Muslim League leader Sheikh Dawood and Samathuva Makkal Iyakkam founder Ernavur Narayanan.
