Vaiko's tough stand delaying seats identification talks?

Chennai: Even as the constituents of the DMDK-People’s Welfare Alliance-TMC yet to reach a final agreement on the seat identification negotiation, Vijayakanth led DMDK went ahead and released its list of candidates for 40 Assembly seats on Wednesday evening.
DMDK’s candidate list has been released a day after Vijayakanth, who is chief ministerial candidate of the alliance, announced in an election rally that his alliance would release candidates of all the constituents parties together in a day or two.
In a statement here, Vijayakanth announced candidates for 45 seats in three separate list on Wednesday evening. Party has nominated its treasurer A. R. Elangovan in Omalur seat in Salem, headquarter secretary B. Parthasarathy in his sitting Virugambakkam seat and deputy secretary N. Zakir Hussain in Pudukkottai.Vaiko’s make or break negotiation dragging talks.
The talks among the constituents has come to a standstill with MDMK leaders did not turn up for negotiations on Wednesday. According to a senior leader in the alliance, Mr Vaiko has adopted a very tough stand while negotiating for the seats. While leaders of DMDK, TMC, VCK and Left parties are very accommodative and open for a give and take in negotiation seats but Mr Vaiko was very adamant in his choice of seats.
Sources said that Mr Vaiko insisted and got sitting seats of DMDK and CPI (M) but refusing to part with couple of seats in Southern district. “He did not turn upon Tuesday for negotiation citing some personal work and his party’s presidium chairman Tirupur Duraisamy. On Wednesday, nobody from MDMK came for the talks,” sources added. However, Mr Vaiko denied reports of rift among the alliance parties. “We will declare the seats to be contested by each parties on Thursday evening,” he told reporters.
