New Delhi: A survey conducted by publishing house India Today- Karvy puts the Congress just ahead of the BJP, raising the possibility of a hung assembly, predicting a neck and neck race for the 224 seat assembly.

The opinion poll-survey sees the Congress winning 90-101 seats, well short of  the required majority of 112. The BJP, the survey says could win 78-86 seats, doubling its 2013 when it went to the polls minus two stalwarts, BS Yeddyurappa and B.Sriramulu, while JD(S) is expected to win 34-43 seats and could become the kingmaker in the state.

The difference between the vote share of the Congress and BJP is barely 2 per cent, the survey states, with even a minor vote swing from one party to other expected to have an impact. The opinion poll predicts a 37% vote share to Congress, while the BJP is expected to garner 35% vote share.
